Museum of Bukovynian Jews’ History and Culture | The museum was opened in the days of celebration of the 600th anniversary of Chernivtsi in October, 2008. The exhibition is arranged in the former Jewish House at 5, Theatre Square. The museum exposition covers the period of the late eighteenth century – mid-twentieth century. A considerable part of the exhibits is made up of ancient books, documents, postcards, items of religion and everyday life. Religious life of the Jews of Bukovyna has a significant place in the exhibition. The museum represents the Jewish cultural and political movements, literature and everyday life of the Jews, their occupations, preferences and spiritual needs. | |
